Potassium Carbonate

Product Description:

Potassium Carbonate is used by distillers to buffer the mash against pH changes and to prevent it from going too low. The ideal pH for mashes being prepared for distilling is between 3,5 and 4.5. 

Dosage: 

To reduce the Total acidity by 1g/l = (1 x V ) x 0,6 

V - volume of mash 

Dissolve the potassium carbonate in a small amount of fermentation liquid first before adding it to the bigger fermentation container. 

Storage: 

Potassium Carbonate powder is highly hygroscopic (attracts water from the atmosphere) and should be stored in an airtight container.
